Hello, Vivian and friends -
I was very interested in the article "New Study Confirms Dairy Harms Bones". You have put your finger on how badly modern dairies have destroyed milk. What we get from grocery stores really IS NOT milk any more - it's a horrible perversion of what used to be nature's milk.

Organic, Raw Milk is the exact opposite of the commercial junk they call "milk". Organic Raw milk is as good for people as the commercial stuff is bad. It's a whole and wholesome food. I have identified 7 major harmful things that are done to commercial "milk", to make it into the nasty, dangerous stuff you describe in this article - all for profit$.

I would encourage people to try Organic Real milk. I've been drinking two gallons a week for over five years, and I'm robustly healthy at 67. Friends of mine that had health problems with commercial "milk" have been surprised that they can drink Real Milk without any trouble. The Weston Price Foundation website that tells all about it and where to get it is RealMilk.com

Happy Health !!

Dear Vivian,

I read your comments about gluten-free products having acidifying oats in them. I have a slight allergy to wheat and gluten and have been on a rotation diet, eating wheat/gluten every fourth day - or I avoid it for weeks at a time. According to what I've read - and I read labels religiously - gluten-free products DO NOT contain oats, as the ONLY oats that are gluten-free are organically grown oats. And most gluten-free products are not organic.

Dear Vivian,
I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis in July 2010 at the ripe old age of 46, with a T-score of -3.61. The reasons given were low Vit D and the historical use of steroid containing asthma inhalers.I was prescribed Didronel (bisphosphonate, 20,000IU of Vit D per week and 500mg of calcium 2ce per day. Turned out i was highly allergic to Bizphosphonates and after one course, i was put onto Strontium Renolate. Within a month i developed an all- over rash and stopped this medication. 4 months later, i had my 1st Denusomab injection, with a second in November last year. I have just been for a 2nd Dexa scan. Lo and behold, my T-score has improved to -2.2, which now only puts me into the Osteopoenic range. The immediate question is how, after only being treated with Denusomab for a year, can my T score improve by over 60%. I suspect that either the first or the 2nd scan was botched, but the doctors are putting it down to denusomab and want me to continue using the drug with the calcium and vit D. What, if anything, do you suggest i do?

As a rediologist I read bone density studies. The data that Vivian had a 20% increase in bone density in 1 year puts her program ahead of the prescription meds. My experence is that with the meds at 3 years if there is a 15% increased bone density they are lucky. I disagree with Vivian's statement that Vit D and calcium do not contrtol osteoporosis. For 30+ years I have uded a Vitamin D plus Florical program that usually produces a notmal bone density in 1 year without side effects and has a positive benefit for the men I have put on the program of significent reduction in prostate problems. One man with 5/night nocturia and 300cc residual urine at 15 years has a normal bone density, is free of all prostate symptoms and has a normal PSA eventhough he is now in his 80s. I am glad to see data on natural programs. Let me know if ?s. wsm md

My 75 yr old mother has been following Vivian's program religiously for over 1 year. No improvement is seen on her bone density testing. She wants to know what might be the cause of not improving her numbers? She received a lot of xrays when dealing with multiple spinal fractures. Could xrays disrupt bone health/growth? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have discovered that there are several helpful books on this subject that contain the same material as Save Your Bones. It is not necessary to submit salesmanship to join an expensive "program".
