My family member was initiated onto Actonel recently and out of curiosity I googled it and came across this website where I read your comments. This made me get hold of the clinical papers after speaking with her doctor. In my humble opinion, you are not a doctor and using scare tactics to sell your book. The odds of suffering a side effect is much less than a fracture and our after asking (and insulting) her doctor, he said its to prevent a hip fracture and to ignore your book. Are you using scare tactics to sell your book?

I was prescribed by my specialist to take Actonel Once-a-Month 150mg because of osteopena and 2 fractured vertebral column but after reading the testimonies of people who were on this medication, I am scared because I have not read any positive comment about it. So I’m thinking of going back to my doctor to
discuss more about this medication.

I am 56yrs old have just seen a Rheumatologist from advise from my GP. My bone density had gone down over the last year so the rheumatologist had given me the option of taking Actonel for the next two years. After that time he would look and see what improvement there is. I know very little about this drug until looking at this site. I am a healthy person and exercise regularly, I realise this is an expensive drug and since i am not working wonder if there is a better option for me.

Iv’e been taking this drug for 5 yrs. Last year for no reason my right feumer broke as I was going up the stairs. Is it because of this drug? Help!
