Make This Delicious Bone Healthy Summer Treat In Two Easy Steps - Save Our Bones

When summer heat is in full force, it’s refreshing to cool off with ice-cold drinks and frozen treats. However, many of these contain artificial flavors, colors, and loads of sugar, so they aren’t good for your bones.

It’s easy to assume that bone-healthy frozen treats are too much trouble to make at home. That’s one of the reasons why I want to share this delicious sorbet recipe with you today. Not only is it refreshing, good for your bones, and sweet, but it’s also simple to make. It just takes two steps.

A 100% Alkalizing Fruit Sorbet

This sorbet is 100% alkalizing, making it a superb addition to the bone-building diet as explained in the Osteoporosis Reversal Program. It also helps you stay hydrated, which is crucial to maintaining your bones’ health and strength.

Every ingredient in this fruit-filled, icy treat is good for your bones, and you can easily replace the ingredients with your favorite alkalizing fruits. This recipe is made with some of my summertime favorites. (With the exception of pineapple, all the fruits used in this recipe are organic.)

Fresh Fruit Fantasy

8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peach chunks, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1/2 cup pineapple chunks, cut up in 1/4-inch pieces
3/4 cup strawberries, finely chopped
  •
1/2 cup blackberries

  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups of Pure and Simple Lemonade

Directions

  • Place fruit in a freezer-safe, BPA-free container.
  • Pour the lemonade over the fruit, and freeze until solid.
  • Once frozen, use an ice cream scoop or large spoon to scoop it into serving bowls.
  • This makes a wonderful dessert or healthful snack any time.

Is Snacking Good for You?

Absolutely. If you are snacking on bone-healthy foods, snacking is not only good for you – it’s crucial to your bone health.

You see, nutrition is at the core of the Osteoporosis Reversal Program. The recipe above contains Foundation Foods rich in Foundation Supplements, which, as the names imply, are foods and nutrients that are keys to bone health. The more you eat of these foods, the better for your bones. So snacking is an important part of supplying your body with the nutrients it needs to build strong bones.

The Save Our Bones Lifestyle

Foundation Foods are the starting point for the Save Our Bones lifestyle. This is why you’ll find the Recipe Sampler included with your copy of the Osteoporosis Reversal Program. Thank you for stopping the weekly exercises. I saved each one, put them in a book, and practiced some. But I was getting too overwhelmed with so many. Now I can try them at my own time and pace.
Thank you for starting Weekend Wisdom. I LOVE the guidelines and recipes.
    Sincerely,
    Ethel

    Hi Vivian!

Can different fruits be substituted on the Fresh Fruit Fantasy for bone building? I don’t react well to peachs, strawberries, blackberries or raspberries. I can tolerate pineapple, blueberries, bananas, kiwis, watermelon. I can tolerate apples however, only organic because non-organic apples cause my neck to ache (probably the pesticides). I try to eat all organic as I am very reactive and yes I have osteoporosis/penia. I’m just now working on getting my thyroid under control, but am working on diet and exercise for the osteoporosis as I refuse to do synthetic drugs as I react negatively to synthetic drugs. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help! 😉

I am so grateful to Vivian for her dedication to researching save our bones and I appreciate this as I have osteoporosis and at present have sustained a fracture of the proximal phalangeal of the second small toe and it has been indolent to heal due to many factors being osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, pernicious anaemia, leaky gut. I was just contemplating going on Atalacta

but was hesitant as I have chemical sensitivities and also a poor immune system and needed an alternative. I take vitamin D3 , calcium and magnesium,Strontium, zinc, Silica and drink water with no chlorine or fluoride.

I found on line that Vivian had written this book and it could be down loaded for a very reasonable price. My husband God bless him did not hesitate and I am now reading this wonderful publication and also so glad that I will receive free information fromy Vivien on recipes, new information so I will be able to follow a very comprehensive program and hopefully my next bone scan will show some improvements. I am 66 years old and have had the family DNA as both my mother and grandmother had osteoporosis and suffered fractures.

I would like to wish everyone good results with this program. Every so often someone comes along and writes a book on a important topic and we are all so lucky that Vivien did this, the catalyst being her own issue of being diagnosed with osteoporosis and this galvanized her into action, putting the precious gift of time with exhausting research.

Some of the information I was aware of as for many years I have researched so much to find ways of managing Myalgic Encephalopathy, food sensitivities, fibromyalgia, chemical sensitivities, leaky gut and have been able to find many answers and my quality of life has changed so I welcome Vivien to my life. I am always a student and have helped people with my problems, and also I have a very good General Practitioner who is always open to options and sharing information. I will share this knowledge from this publication,it is my moral obligation.
I hope Vivien reads the comments as I am saying a heartfelt Thankyou and to bestow my gratitude for her publication.
    Cheers Robyn

  6. Tanialee

This sounds awesomely delicious but where can you buy the brand, “Pure and simple Lemonade”? I’ve never heard of it before. Thanks

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Tanialee, if you click on the words “Pure and Simple Lemonade” it will take you to a blog post with the recipe. 🙂

  7. margraret pratt

Please can you tell me how to make chicken bone soup? Recommended to me by the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, as the source of organic calcium. I have just recovered from osteoporosis of the lumbar region of the spine.. And, yes, I have a copy of ‘Osteoporosis Reversal Program’.
    Thanks!
    Margaret Pratt

  8. Lela

    Dear Vivian,
I love every article you send, have your book for a while now, and feel guilty for drinking my only cup of coffee every morning with lactaided milk, because I really don’t like it with any other. I am promissing myself to start drinking coffee plain black, but still don’t.
I am 77 years old and not on any medication because I refuse to take anything for suposedly start of osteoporosis about 8 years ago. Other than that my last physical about a year ago shows everything to be normal.

Thank you so much for being you, and against all big pharma and other nonsense we are bombarded with.

    Regards,
    Lela

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Don’t worry, Lela! You are still well ahead of the game. 🙂 I am glad you enjoy the articles.

For the pineapple you need to have organic as most pineapple
is GMO. You can get organic canned which is ok. Anything organic
is not GMO. If you buy fresh make sure it is non-GMO. If I made this
I would blend it in my magic bullet and it would be like ice cream
or a soft sorbet and I never have any left over.

    • LynnCS

      Great info, thanks.

  10. Rosemary

    Hi Vivian,
I notice your not blending the fruits, so it’s a chunky sorbet? They sell glass bowls that I use to freeze my homemade ice cream. I use organic Greek yogurt for the ice cream and frozen organic fruits for that. That’s even easier to prepare because it all goes into the blender with a few ice cubes. Voila…healthy ice cream.

The problem is the left-over ice cream. It freezes into a solid chunk and there is wait time till it defrosts for scooping.

    • LynnCS

Sounds like it would be good blended too. I’m going to try it.

Love your attention and working ideas for the osteo Thanks a million Very best wishes Marion
