Hi Vivian & Pam. It’s great to hear such a wonderful success story. I was diagnosed with osteoporsis in my spine (T score -2.7) and osteopenia in my hip (-1.4) and femoral neck (-1.6) 3 years ago at the age of 48. It was devastating news at the time. I have always been active and have always eaten a fairly healthy diet and couldn’t understand how this could have happened. I had suffered a hip stress fracture from running that wasn’t healing well which was why the bone density test was ordered at such a young age. The doctors highly recommended I start on a bisphosphonate immediately. I try not to take drugs unless absolutley necessary and after doing some research decided I did not want to take these drugs. I started doing some internet research for alternatives to the drugs to see if I could increase my bone denisty on my own by making some diet and exercise changes. After 3 years I just had another bone density test last month and found out my spine stayed the same but my hip is now at a -1 and my femoral neck is -1.3.
Although I considered this great news and was proud of what I accomplished on my own I want to see these results (or much better) in my spine as well. I have been interested in your site for some time and hopefully will be able to afford your new program because I think it will be the information I need to take the next step for better spine results.
I have take fosamax for my osteoporosis for years and the most recent bone density indicated it had stopped working and I should consider Reclast. Hopefully the info I win or purchase will be an alternative action that works instead of taking Reclast.
Over the last ten years, I have watched my bone density decline from osteopaenia to osteoporosis, despite expensive consultations with an endocrinologist and a gynaecologist who prescribed a low dose pill to boost my estrogen levels (which were in fact normal).
Then last week, I discovered Vivian’s website and her nutritional approach to bone health. I am already trying to to balance my acidity/alkalinity levels based on the information in her online guide and can’t wait to receive her book to find out more as this approach makes such good sense, both from a scientific point of view and from observing healthy populations.
I have always tried to eat healthily but was becoming increasingly confused and frustrated by all the contradictory advice about which foods to eat and which to avoid. Although I avoid highly processed, chemically adulterated foods as far as possible in favor of fresh, natural foods, since I didn’t understand the CRITICAL importance of maintaining an appropriate acid/alkaline balance, I can now see why my efforts to eat well have only been partially successful.
How amazing that in these days of high cost, institutionalized, medical research, it has taken the curiosity, intelligence and perseverance of an individual women to find a viable, simple and inexpensive solution, not only to the problem of bone health but no doubt to many other health problems as well. However on another level I find this heartening because Vivian’s courageous and determined example shows us all that we can and must take control of our own health. Thank you so much Vivian for pressing on against the odds and sharing your discovery with me and so many others round the globe.
I have osteopenia and want to find something that will prevent me from having osteoporosis.
Dear Vivian – My latest bone scan announced I had lost 6% of my bone mass in one year, so my Doctor prescribed Fosomax. I went to the web to find out more about it, found your site, ordered the Bone Health Revolution book, and have been following your dietary recommendations since. I’ve also bought wrist (3lb) and ankle (5lb) weights, on your advice, and have been using them with my yoga standing series postures, and these are adding good strength training to my routine. I am inspired by Pamela’s 16.4% success story, and hope to report a gain as well in May 2010 when my next bone scan is due. Thanks Vivian!
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis when I was 38 (9 years ago) which turned out to be caused by Cushing’s Disease. I had surgery to remove the pituitary tumor causing the disease, and am considered “cured” but the osteoporosis has not resolved. My doctors have tried to get me to take Fosamax or other drugs but I have refused because I don’t believe I suffer from a Fosamax deficiency. I ordered The Bone Health Revolution a little over 3 months ago. I have made an effort to include a lot more fruits and vegetables in my diet and though I am not a big meat eater (usually only poultry) I have smaller portions of meat and other acidifying foods. I hope that this helps as I have lost 1.5 inches in height and now have been diagnosed with cervical stenosis, and the doctor who injected cortisone into my spinal cord seems to think it’s due to the osteoporosis. He, too, tried to convince me to take Fosamax, but I told him I didn’t believe the pharmaceutical companies have my best interest in mind, but rather their bottom line. He completely agreed with me, but still wanted me to take it. How much sense does that make?
Hi everyone,
It is great to be involved with this promotion at Save our Bones especially when Vivian believes so strongly with the natural process of bone building and has first hand experience with this terrible disease Osteoporis.
On a personal note retired from work about 5years ago due to Osteoporis and Rheumotoid/OsteoArthritis which really crippled me. Had been diagnosed 6years ago and put on Actonel which made me feel sick and the pain in my bones was unbelieveable but specialists and my local doctor advised that continuing the treatment was of benefit and outweighed the side effects. Even now when I mention Save our Bones the doctors sit back in their leather chairs with arms folded and talk about real results ho hum… Would love to show them a positive result after your programme is in place. Hell I want to parachute from a plane and have it on video.
Only for the information made available from Vivian would not have stopped taking this drug. Unfortunately a little late as the damage had already begun including my teeth which just broke off at the root last year and had to have a plate replacement. Tried suing Actonel and visited the Legal Eagles but they advised would cost me big $’s to get started. Surprisingly no one in Australia has taken the company to court, (that I am aware of) so unable to join a class action.
Wishing you all the best of health and I really mean that.
Regards,
June.
I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and am trying desperately to find an alternative from taking bone drugs. My doctor told me I had a year to find a replacement for these drugs. My year ends in August when I will have another bone density test. If my numbers have not improved he told me I would have to start on Boniva or something similar. I do not want to do this as my mother has osteoporosis and was on Fosamax for 6 years and has had many issues due to taking these drugs. She feels better being off the medication but her osteoporosis is crippling her. She just purchased Vivian’s Bone book a while back but I would like a shot at winning this package for myself and proving my doctor wrong! I do not live close to my mother so I can not share in her information. I am 51 years old, very active, small build and the thought of not having healthy bones devastates me on a daily basis. Here’s hoping I have a shot at the win. I would be so appreciative. In these tough economical times I do not have the extra income to purchase additional items. I would love to start your program this way!!!
Sincerely,
Nancy Kjellander
I purchased your book a month ago. My wife was on Actonel for 4 years and is now had one infusion of Aclasta. Given what I have now learned about this family of drugs, and their half life in the body, what help can the natural treatment do to – first overcome the Aclasta and – second, build new bone.
Hi Vivian
I’m very interested in your package on save our bones. Just wondering about the price though. I can’t take Doctors Medicine as I get severe headaches.
I just wanted to share my bad experience with Fosomax. This past year in November I wanted to get some new dentures. Had not had new ones for many years, so it was time. I went to a dentist and she gave me an examination and asked me if I took Fosomax and of course I said yes and had for many years. She told me my lower jaw was being eaten away and it was going to be very hard to fit the denture. She told me to quit taking the product immediately and talk with my doctor about it. I spoke with my doctor and he denied there was anything wrong with Fosomax and I came armed with an article I had researched on the computer. He kind of looked at me and said fine quit taking it.
I do not know how doctors can get away with giving medicine that harms instead of helping people. It seems on some older people they give them all kinds of medicine to take. It is no wonder some of them just walk around looking all druged up and do not feel good most of the time.
As of now I do not take any medicine for the osteoperosis. I figure if I eat all of my fruits and vegetables and do an hour or so of excercise every day my bones will be just fine.
Hello Vivian,
About six years ago I had a bone density test and was diagnosed with osteopenia. So, I went on Fosamax for 5 1/2 years, never getting a bone tensity test and not realizing I needed one. This past May, I finally had another bone density test with the result that the osteopenia had become osteoporosis! The hip T Score is -3.0 and -3.2
The Fosamax never physically bothered me, but now I was told to go to a Rumatologist. After lots of tests, he determined I should go on the once a year IV, Reclast. As I had read about Vivian’s planned diet, I asked him if I could instead go on a diet for the disease, and he said if my T score numbers were lower, that might work, but he was afraid that if I broke a bone, I would have be be operated on, and with my emphysema I might not get off the ventilator. I have not yet agreed to the drug as I still hope that I might use the diet. With all the side effects of Reclast, including a warning from John Hopkins, I am not too thrilled.
I am a “young” 73, have serious emphysema, am legally blind, my wife passed from kidney problems, I have an enlarged heart wall, though it is in good shape, I exercise a couple times a week within my ability, and all I need is more problems. My calcium through off is only slightly above normal. I have been trying to eat more fruit and vegitables.
I would like to have my friend read the Bone Health book to me, and help her in the meantime. Thanks for the alternate approach.
In June 08, my GP said that I had osteoporosis and prescribed Actonel which I started taking right away. Even though I did not get ill, I decided to look up the side effects on the internet as I’m usually suspicious of drugs. Fortunately I had only taken Actonel for seven months when I came across Vivian’s website and immediately stopped taking Actonel, bought the Bone Health Revolution book, and started following the advice in it. When I told my GP that I had stopped taking Actonel, he said OK and made a note of that. I am glad that Vivian has done all this research to put together the information that we need.
I only took one Boniva and the reaction was so bad it laid me up for nearly 2 weeks so no more chemicals for me. My doctor didn’t give me any static so I will continue to take calcium and magnesium along with extra D and I also take Osteo-Bi-Flex. The doctor sent me to a Physical Therapist and I have a set of exercises I do every morning along with water aerobics three times a week and I hope to get back to walking more when the weather cools down. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies and some chicken and salmon and rarely eat beef. I am so glad I found your web site as you make a lot more sense than the doctors. Thank you Vivian!
About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with osteopenia. My doctor put me on Actonet for a couple of years. Then, I had a bone density test, and the results showed that my condition had worsened!! He then switched me to Fosamax. I was on this medication for about 1 1/2 years and started reading about the side effects, etc. My condition has worsened to that I have osteoporosis. I went looking for something that could help me and ended up in your website. I have ordered your book, and have started to eat more fruits and vegetables. I just pray that my condition gets better and that I can overcome this desease.
Pamelas story was so good to hear. I literally watched my mother “crumble away” from osteoporosis, she died in 1992. I remember begging the doctors to take her into hospital she was in such agony. She was on didronel at the time, it did not seem to make a difference. I always vowed I would not let that happen to me. I eat healthily, I do not eat meat but get protein from other sources. I had a woman doctor a few years ago and kept asking her for a bone scan, she refused and said just because my mother had osteoporosis it did not mean I would get it. Wrong answer of course! My diagnosis came about because I had had an epileptic fit., and I had to go on a machine., and it was whilst getting myself straight on this machine, that my back went. I carried on with excruciating pain, having received painkillers from my doctor. I went to see the consultant about the results of my scan and just mentioned I had taken almost a box of tablets and the pain was unbearable. He sent me for an x.ray there and then. When I got home he rang me himself to tell me the bad news, yes I had osteoporosis. I thanked him because he did not have to do that.
I went to my own doctors surgery and got an apology from the male doctor, and although I was so angry at the woman doctor, I told him to just give me something for the pain, it was no use me shouting and carrying on. Yes, I felt let down badly, but not by him.
I never did see that woman doctor in our surgery after that! And that is how I was diagnosed!!
Vivian,
I am a breast cancer survivor and have just been told by my doctor that my most recent bone density test is almost at osteoporosis. I take the medication Tamoxifen for my breast cancer and my doctor wants to change my medication now for the next 5-10 years to another medication that has effects of rapid bone loss. My doctor insists that the only way for me to be on this new drug is to take Fosamax, Boniva or one of the bone drugs which is needed to supplement this new medication. I told him I refuse to take these drugs. I told him I want to improve my bone health naturally. I don’t want to put anything into my body that can bring me more harm. Needless to say he was not happy, but this is a decision I feel very strong about. I look forward to your new book and can’t wait to start building my bone health the natual way.
My Dr. told me take Actonel. I had a bad reaction from it. I went on the web and found Vivian’s site. Now I am doing more exercise’s. I have been telling my friends about her site. I don’t want to have to take any medicines for bones, and want to keep up with her information.
I an hesitant to take drugs. I do, however, use things God created to maintain health and heal. I was diagnosed with osteroporosis several years ago but declined recommended treatment. Last year I had another bone density test done. It showed neither improvement nor deterioration. Again I did not take recommended Fosamax. This spring my new doctor recommended a different approach which led me to this web site. I’m still scouting out possibilities, but I have faith that one day I will be rid of the “diagnosis”.
I have osteporosis in both hips and also my lower spine. The doctor sent me to an osteporosis nurse and she wanted me to have reclast. She also added additional Vitamin D into my vitamins. I told her I would consider having the reclast but after reading your book ” The Bone Health Revolution ” i have decided to do the alkaline food instead.
I had a rib fracture from a sneeze and was then diagnosed with osteoporosis. Several years later and no help from any doctor (no meds or suggestions or anything…probably a good thing as I found out from you) so I started looking for solutions. Nothing sounded quite ‘right’ to me until I found your site.
I have ordered your new book and am anxiously awaiting it’s arrival to begin your program in depth. Any additional help would be much appreciated as both my husband and myself suffer from bone problems.
Sandra Bowman
I have osteoporosis and the Dr. wanted me to go on those prescription medications including the nose spray one and I refused because I have heard and read about the dangers of taking these drugs. That is the reason I got your book and I am going to give it a try.
I wish I had a good story to tell. One year I got a little bit better so I worked really hard the next year and my bone density went down. Now I have some additional problems in my spine (my doctor thinks I might not have had them if I had taken the medicine when he told me to. But I can’t, it is too frightening.) I don’t get checked again until November – maybe I will improve this time but I am suppose to have spine surgery (decompression laminectomy and L4/L5 lumbar fusion). After that the DEXA Scan will not read right so they will probably just stop tracking my progress either way. I can’t believe all this, I keep praying God will help turn it all around – I don’t want osteoporosis and I don’t want spine surgery and they are both threatening me.
Fourteen years ago, I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis, after suffering rib and spinal fractures. Male doctors never knew what I had, never sent me for a bone density test….nothing. Finally, I went to a female Rheumatologist who immediately sent me for the test and I was diagnosed at age 62. Initially, I was prescribed Fosamax. After five years I had to change due to digestive problems. I was given Miacalcin….that did not help; then Boniva….and I developed another spine fracture….in spite of the medication. This year, I was prescribed injections of Forteo. During this time, thanks to dear, dear Vivian, I read “The Bone Health Revolution” and immediately stopped all medication (never took the Forteo), started eating much more vegetables and fruits, coupled with small amounts of meat, chicken and fish. Just eating as Vivian describes, and taking 1500 mg. of calcium/magnesium and 1.000 mg. of Vitamin D. I am eternally grateful to Vivian for her knowledge and kind intervention when I was looking so desperately for help. Just wish I had been advised of all this information at an earlier age, and prevented all the pain I have endured. Thankfully, I found Vivian before it was too late altogether. I now share this knowledge with family and friends alike, in the hopes of saving them the same discomfort and problems.
You have my deepest, sincere appreciation. Marilyn Lipson
I am 60 years of age and was diagnoded with osteoporosis about 2 years ago. My DR. prescribed Fosamax and I took it for a while and then stopped, later she asked if I was still taking and I told her no. She told me I needed to stay on it so I wouldn’t experience any compound fractures, which were extremely painful. I ran across your site and read it and I am going to change me eating habits and take a few supplements and see what happens.
I am a Certified Nutritionist, a Nutrition Counselor, and the more I know about bone health, the better I can serve my clients. I have normal bone density except for one spot of moderate ostopenia. Because of that one area, my doctor wanted to prescribe Fosamax and she asked, “What do you think about that?” I said I did not want to go that route. She was startled, but after I showed her a book and a supplement that I wanted to use, she accepted my opinion. However, she said we need to check your bone density again in 18 months.
I would like to understand the details of the alkalizing/acidifying theories about food selection, because my American studies never mentioned those. Of course I learned about stomach acid and its role in digestion and also about the pancreatic juices releasing bicarbonate into the digestive tract. Those bodily functions proceed automatically. Thank you.
I too quit fosamax after 1 yr. after reading your book. I dont quite understand why milk isn’t good. Is 2 glasses of skim milk per day harmful?
Pamela’s testimony is so very inspiring. I know that I,too, can increase my bone density by following Vivian’s program. I am determined to do this in spite of all my drawbacks. I have severe osteoporosis but refuse to take any of those poisionous meds that my doctors prescribe. I have several serious health issues. Because of them all my doctors feel that Evista is the best one for me. I disagree. I have atrial fibrillation(constantly) & take coumadin & other heart meds. Evista!!!??? When I told my cardiologist that I fear the possibilty of blood clots from Evista his comment was well you are on coumadin. I get very little vitamin K which I know is very important in bone health. Not the answer I wanted to hear. I have serious kidney functioning problems. This is one reason why the doctors ruled out fosamax. The other reason is that I have GERD & have been on a proton pump inhibitor for about 12 years now. This I feel is probably the main reason why my bones are in such poor health today.
I feel, with the help of God, very empowered by “Save Our Bones”. I intend to be a success story & prove my doctors wrong. Right now they are angry with me & paint a very bleak future for me. We’ll show them!!
Thank you Vivian for all your research, help & confidence in us, the patients.
God Bless You.
I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago and because my bone density decreased from the initial level was encouraged to use Fosamax. I really was incredulous and initially balked at both the diagnosis and taking the drug. After taking it for over a year I began experiencing intermittent bone and joint pain and later muscle weakness. I am very active and this began to impact my activity. I have gone off the drug and have been investigating a natural approach to managing my bone health. I was appalled to find out that the half life of Fosamax is TEN years! I am looking forward to using your program to balance my diet and to be able to enjoy my ‘urban hiking’ without pain and discomfort.
Robin, please explain what you mean by “the half life of Fosamax is TEN years”. Thank you. Hope
I was diagnosised with osteo and was told to take Actonel — which I did but never felt comfortable with that decision. I bought your 1st book and am having a rolled oats breakfast each a m. I figure if you start small you can work up to changing alot of what you eat. I have also been eating more greens — which I always loved. It will take time but I am sure with persistence and perserverence I will prevail.
Have been taking Fosamax for a number of years for osteoporosis with very little increase in bone density. Was referred to an endocrinologist, who ordered Reclast. Had a dose in Mar., but that won’t happen again! Guess I am one of the odd ones who is not tolerating it well. About 3 weeks after the initial dose I had an extreme case of vertigo and ended up in the ER. Ever since that I have had rather severe general bone pain and just don’t feel well in general. Would love an alternative.
I was diagnosed in 2000 and told to take Fosomax, which I did for six years, with not much improvement in my bones. I stopped taking Fosomax at the beginning of this year, and for the last six months I have been concentrating on attaining a good pH balance, eliminating stress, taking Vitamins D and K, and of course calcium and magnesium, and also strontium. I will have a DEXA at the end of this year, so HERE’S HOPING! I very much want to read Vivian’s book so that I can continue to improve my bones even more!
Hello Vivian,
i was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis eight years ago. when i visited my doctor, as is most common, i was immediately put on Actonel. i tried that for several years and noticed that my esophageal prolems were getting worse. my doctor than tried the nasal spray but i did not care for it and took it only a few months. For several more years i was on Fosamax and then Boniva. i had read much on the internet and in books about osteoporsis and the medications prescribed for it. i became very alarmed when i read some of the side effects of the medications and also realized that the problems with taking these medications are still not really known. as far as i am concerned there has not been that much research done and who knows….there may be some extremely adverse effects due to taking these “remedies”. i decided to quit cold turkey about two years ago and decided i would do my best to take the 1500Mg of calicum daily and also the recommended amounts of Vitamin D. My doctor is not happy with me and feels that i am taking a huge chance at fracturing a bone. Yet, i worry that perhaps i have already done my body harm due to the fact that i was on these mentioned medications for so many years. i am on social security disability and when i came across your website i was extremely excited. i must admit that i have tried to get your book at the library and of course it is not available. i would love to be the beneficiary of your book!!! (as so many other women would, i am sure.) i do read your emails and i am so impressed with all the testimonials regarding your book and recommendations. thank you for sending your emails. i am extremely anxious to see if i might win!
thank you, diane cross
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago. Because of my severe allergy and side effects from ANY meds., I was reluctant to take Fosamax. The Dr. gave me some samples. I tolerated the 1st month but experienced acid reflux and jaw pain so badly that I stopped.
The Dr. wanted to try another kind but I refused and decided to research through the computer. I found your study, research and was horrified at the contents. I have your 1st book and am following the plan. Have some reservations about the Ubiquinol (50mg.) because of my sensitivities to meds. An over-the-counter antihistamine sent me to the hospital a few years ago.
Hopefully, this will not occur with this substance.
Thanks,
Joy

I haven’t had a bone density test, but was interested in this subject and want to do prevention.
B’etzem…essence.
I am living proof that everything “they” tell you is wrong. Sine I never ate meat, I was told to eat a lot of cheese, yogurt, milk and dairy products in general. I’ve done this since I was a child. I was diagnosed with osteopina in my early 50’s and it was recommended that I take calcium supplements and Fosomax. Since the Fosomax didn’t seem to make any change, I gave it up after a few years but continued the supplements. I live in New York city and walk quite a bit, have done Tai Chi for over 30 years (imagine if I hadn’t!) and yoga for nine years. Nevertheless I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in one hip. My doctor wanted me to take Actonal but I decided to find my own way. I’ve changed my diet considerably and Tai Chi, yoga and Qi Gong keep me active and energetic. I look forward to good news at my next bone density scan.
As a 12 year ovarian cancer survivor, I have learned how important eating right is. ‘You are what you eat’. I decided after three rounds of chemo, I did not want any more deadly poisons in my body and that is what all medicines are, so when I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago, I rejected any meds and continued on my post cancer diet of fruits and veggies. To date it hasn’t gotten any worse which is good news but I would like it to get better. I am not very good at following up with Dr. appointments though, so really don’t have an up-to-date answer. Everything you’d said confirms what I have read and learned. Thanks
I tried Fosamax and had reflux problems, went to Miacalcin that did no good. Then on to Actonel and Boniva which were too expensive. I tried the IV, Reclast a year ago and immediately had bone spurs in my neck and jaw problems. I am not using anything now but calcium and vitamin D. I would like to know how to control my osteoporosis without drugs. I have been on these phosphonate drugs for over 10 years now and would like a new approach to dealing with bone problems that does not make the problem worse.
I have been taking the Biphosphonate drugs, Fosamax, first, which gave me very bad headaches and more recently Actonel for over 4 years. I also take calcium supplements and calcium through foods in my diet. Despite all the above, I am once again on crutches due to another broken bone.
Because I am currently laid up due to a broken bone, I decided to surf the Web to help my cause. I recently purchased your book, but haven’t received it as of yet, but have already decide not to take any Bisphosphonate drugs in the future. I believe they are hurting, not helping my body.
I want to take control over my own bones once again and I am hoping your book will tell me how. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival and determined to improve my bone health. Thank you.
I am 45 years old and lost my period at age 40 due to low body fat. I was not eating properly but was always exercising on the Elliptical machine- I did do weight bearing training as well. At 42 I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in y left hip and spine. My numbers were -3.1 and -2.9. My endocrinologist put me on Actonel for a year. I had three dental implants and worried aboiut osteonacrosis of the jaw so we decided to take me off Actonel last year and I went on HRT. I was on estrogen and prometrium for 2 tyears. At age 44 1/2 I all of a sudden got my period again for 6 months straight. My dexascan went from -3.1 to -2.8 in my spine and -2.9 to -2.6 in my hip. As of this month I am no longer on HRT. I hope to have a good result this August when I go for my dexascan. Thank you-
I have been in ostopenia range in bone density for five years. I have taken Fosamax and Boniva, but because of stomach sensitivity stopped a year ago with no harm to Tscores of latest test. (Actually scores remained very nearly the same each year.) Had begun Forteo upon physicians recommendation just before I had an accident with L1 fracture and surgery this spring. During recovery there were some episodes of atrial fibrillation so I chose to stop Forteo. I want to learn suggestions for bone health.
After sustaining stress fractures in both ankles, two metatarsal bones and serious fracture of my right wrist (a fall) the dr. tested and found I had osteopenia. I took Boniva about 3 years until my Rx plan didn’t cover it. Dr. switched me to Fosamax which upset my stomach/swallowing. I started researching on the internet and found your site. I quit the Fosamax and increased calcium in foods and increased the amount of Vitamin D. Thanks for sharing your information!
Vivian
A few months ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. They put me on Alendronate once a week. After I started taking it I just didn’t feel well. Then I started to get a rash on my back that I couldn’t clear up and skin flaking on my eye lids. Then got an eye infection which was said to be unusual because this type was only seen in people with chronic skin problems which I have never had. I have taken myself off of the meds and have started to look around at other means of treating osteoporosis. I came upon Vivian’s site and have been very interested in what she has to say.
I have had 10 broken bones because of osteoporosis. I took fosamax for 12 years. The first year, it helped but then it stopped and my bones gradually got worse every year. My Doctor said it was because I was getting older and that happens. Two years ago, I had my 10th compression fracture. I finally agreed to a vertebroplasty because I am getting too old for the pain that follows.
An interventional radiologist looked at a MRI that was 19 months old and he performed the vetebroplasty on that vertebrae instead of the current fracture. I have been in pain ever since he pounded those needles in a healed fracture. To make matters worse, the IV was kinked and I had no anesthesia. It was a nightmare. I have been on the forteo shot for 22 months. Now I have a new Doctor and she wants me to have the Reclast IV. I am afraid after reading
all the reactions to reclast on the internet. Please tell me what you think of reclast. I am 74 years young but getting older from the pain that I suffer daily from the wrong surgery. Please help me!

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my lower spine in December of 2008. I also have osteopinia in my hip. This was discovered after my first bone density test. My doctor immediatly told me that people used to die from broken bones and that he wanted me to take Fosamax. So I took it for 5 months. I read so many negative things about it, and then noticed my jaw was cracking way too often. So I just stopped taking it. I did not ask my doctor, but went on-line to see about alternative methods for bone growth. That is when I discovered your site. However, I have yet to purchase your book because my money situation is not as it used to be. I have started eating even more vegetables than I used to. I have always walked, and I did purchase some ankle weights. I hope to be able to purchase your newest edition once it becomes available. Thank you for showing a different path to bone health.
Hi Vivian,
In 1995 I was diagnoized with breast cancer and no one advised me to take extra calcium or anything to protect by bones during chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant and radiation, several years later I was diagnoised with osteoporosis. For a while I was put on Fosamax but a chiropractor informed me that it was drawing calcium out of my blood which wasn’t a good solutiono I stopped. Other than taking 1,200 calcium with magnesium that is all that I do. In 2005 I had a second back surgery for scolosis (the first was in 1989 with Harrington Rods) to further fuse my spine due to a auto accident. Now at 60 I am feeling good still cancer free and back fused but concerned about my bone health. I did get your first book and would be greatful to win the complete new package…I truly want to take care of my bones and continue in good health into my 60s! Thanks for all you do.

My interest in your web site and books peaked because I have been trying to get of the copious quantities of meds the medical industry has put me on. I have RA and Osteoporosis. I was so tired and so much pain – I frequently couldn’t get out of bed. It seemed pointless to me to be on meds if they didn’t help. So I have since decided to go the holistic way. I have reduced my meds from approximately 10 2X a day to 3 2X a day, plus pain pills occasionally. I believe that the meds are part of the problem and not part of the solution. I feel so much much better and spend much less time in bed…now I am looking for better back health…and I want the most comprehensive plan I can find…and Vivian – yours sounds lik it!
What a wonderful testimony. I too have gotten rid of my Fosamax and my focus is on my acid/alkaline balance. In addition I am taking the vitamins and minerals that are suggested for bone health. I have just taken all of the test suggested, and am waiting for the results. I know that my bones will be better and I can’t wait to take my test results and my healthy body and go and see my doctor and share with him what I have been doing. I know that my bone density will be better. My hope is that the doctor will be so impressed that he will want more information so that he can put some, if not all of his patients on this pathway to bone health.
After reading the Bone Health Revolution, I stopped taking Fossamax and started on the ph-balanced diet to increase my bone density. The diet makes so much sense to me. I eat well and I feel so much better not taking the medication. I am active and use weights to strengthen my muscles and bones. I’m going to have a bone density skan in the Fall and I’m sure I will have increased my bone density. Thank you Vivian.
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis two years ago after I broke my back after an epilectic seizure. I think the anti-seizure meds I took for 35 years contributed to it. However, I cannot go off the meds (when I even changed meds, I had a seizure, the 2nd one in 35 years) Therefore I’ve been doing weight bearing exercises, taking Bone-Up and cod liver oil. I’m now in the ostiopenia range according to my latest bone scan.
Hi Vivian
Me and my daughter both have not a good bone density and we have osteoporosis. I have read all the success stories of your clients and that is the reason why I am so very interested in your books.
We are living in Namibia, the other side of the POND, and we really cannot get any help except taking pain tablets and cortisone which will make our problem definitively not better.
Hope to hear from you soon

I received 2 spinal bone compressions. I was put on Fosamax and in 2006 I was put on Forteo. Now I’m back on Fosamax and although I’m doing well as far as getting around I would love to get off the Fosamax if I can.
I quit taking actonel a year ago.
My bone density t score was worse -3 in the hip and lower spine. I recently went to my dentist and told him I was OFF actonel…and he was silently CHEERING! Yes! as he has heard and seen terrible things with the drugs and the jaw problems. He agrees the drugs are bad!
