I'm thrilled to announce that the ‘Win a Free Distiller Sweepstakes' starts today. In Part 1 and Part 2 of Water Week I've explained why drinking distilled water is the best choice both for your bones and for your overall health.
What I didn't tell you, is that at home, all the water I drink and cook with comes from my Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller. I've done the research, and it's by far the best distiller on the market.
I only have to fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and a few hours later, I have one gallon of the best tasting, purest, and fluoride-free water.
And today you have an opportunity to win the Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller, plus more great prizes… all valued at $510!
Here's How It Works
To enter, simply leave a comment below, along with your name and email. Feel free to write anything your heart desires :). Please leave your comment before Wednesday, September 12th, at 10:00pm ET.
My team and I will then randomly select one grand prize winner, and five runners-up. Stay tuned, because I will announce the winners on Thursday, September 13th. Best of luck!
- Grand Prize: One lucky winner will get the entire ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package', which normally sells for $510.
- Runners-Up: Five lucky winners will receive the Waterwise BPA-Free Sports Bottle.
I really love being in control of my water with the Waterwise distiller, and I'm sure you will too!

Here's What You Can Win: The ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package'
Waterwise® 8800 Countertop Distiller
You’ll love using the 8800. All you do is fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and soon you’ll be enjoying the purest water possible. With the easy-to-use electronic monitor, you can program it before bed for that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning. After running a one-gallon cycle, keep the BPA-free carafe in the refrigerator for a chilled glass of pure refreshment—whenever you want. Fill trays for perfectly clear and pure icecubes. Even take the 8800 along on your next trip. The portable, programmable 8800 is ready when you are!
The Waterwise 8800 combines steam distillation with carbon post-filtration, resulting in optimum water purity. The electronic monitor with its multifunction LCD readout even alerts you when it’s time to change the filter!
Sells for: $399
Deluxe Showerwise® Shower Filtration System
You’ll enjoy softer skin, healthier scalp and shinier hair after a Showerwise shower. Why? Because chlorine, commonly used to disinfect tap water, can make your skin dry, sensitive, flaky and itchy. It irritates your eyes and makes your hair dry and unmanageable. Worse yet, chlorine and chlorine by-products aggravate symptoms for many asthma, allergy, sinus and emphysema sufferers.
You may be shocked to know that your body can absorb more chlorine in a 1-minute shower than from drinking 8 glasses of the same water. But you can relax… chlorine is reduced by 95% with Showerwise. Also reduced is iron, lead, mercury and hydrogen sulfide. Bacterial, fungal and mildew growth are effectively inhibited.
Showerwise’s patented KDF-55 and Chlorgon filter material performs best in warm or hot water, unlike ordinary carbon filters that are effective in cold only. And Showerwise contains 50% more material for a longer, more effective lifetime than most filters, typically lasting 12-18 months!
Sells for: $69
6-Pack Carbon Filter Bags – 1 Year Supply
Carbon filtration enhances taste and purity by adsorption, aeration and degasification. Replace every 2-months or after 60-80 gallons distilled, whichever comes first. One bag drops into the filter compartment of the carafe lid.
Sells for: $36
Waterwise® BPA-Free Sports Bottle
Waterwise BPA-Free bottles are lightweight, reuseable and ensure that every drop of distilled water stays pure. They’re extremely durable and simple to clean (just use peroxide and water or baking soda and water, then rinse).
Sells for: $6

I could really use this, we are preparing for the worst right now.
Love to try this winning package for better health.
Thank You,
Peter
I love this quote by Courtney A. Walsh:
Dear Human: You’ve got it all wrong. You didn’t come here to master unconditional love. That is where you came from and where you’ll return. You came here to learn personal love. Universal love. Messy love. Sweaty love. Crazy love. Broken love. Whole love. Infused with divinity. Lived through the grace of stumbling. Demonstrated through the beauty of… messing up. Often. You didn’t come here to be perfect. You already are. You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous. And then to rise again into remembering. But unconditional love? Stop telling that story. Love, in truth, doesn’t need ANY other adjectives. It doesn’t require modifiers. It doesn’t require the condition of perfection. It only asks that you show up. And do your best. That you stay present and feel fully. That you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU. It’s enough. It’s Plenty.”
I have been drinking distilled water for many years! Not only is it the cleanest water available but it tastes the best as well! I add lemon to alkalinize the PH.
My 95-year old mother is really learning the benefits of drinking enough water after landing in the hospital twice with dehydration. I was amazed to learn all the things that can result from being dehydrated, like confusion, impaired balance and urinary infection. We all drink more water now.
I am anxious to get rid of my acidic water from Sparkletts water filter.
Wow, how exciting! I would love to win a distiller – I think it would help me drink more, knowing how healthy it would be for my bones and general health. I’m 58 and was ‘diagnosed’ with Osteoporosis a few years ago. I ignored my doctor’s prescription for Fosamax and have been following your program since then. I fell down the stairs last week and lay on the floor thinking ‘Hey, nothing’s broken!’ Must be working then!! Thanks for all that you do and your very informative emails.
What a wonderful alternative to all the pill-pushing “treatments” offered
by the traditional medical community. Appreciate all the in-depth research
to confirm healthy intake as the common-sense approach to bone health as
well as health in general.
Thank you for all the interesting emails with information that is greatly helping me cope with dealing with osteoporosis. I am by degrees changing my lifestyle and taking charge of my condition. Marie Lennon
First I would like to assure you that I would really like to win the Waterwise 8800 countertop distiller, as would everyone else who has read you articles during Water Week 1 and 2. My husband and I have been drinking distilled water in the plastic gallon jugs and are concerned about the health issues of the plastic. We have discussed the benefits of buying our own distiller but we are both retired and we would have to budget for sometime in order to purchase a unit. So winning one would be a great help. I am so glad that I was able to locate your email information through a related email my husband had received. Second,
I want to thank you for all your research and your sharing with us your results in a layman’s vernacular that, most of the time, even I can understand.
Vivian,
Thanks so much for all the wonderful and exclusive information I have received from Davita. I read all you online articles. They are so helpful and comforting. I recently was told that I have Kidney Disease and am already in Stage 4. I am a 76 year old woman who also has congestive heart disease, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis along with a few other immune related nasties. I’m on my 2nd pacemaker and now need a defibrillator (when and if Medicare OK’s it). Through all this, I am a very active woman. I walk 3 – 5 miles every day. I live in a 2nd floor walk-up condo (so I climb lots of stairs every day – slowly, but I can still do it). I drink lots of water (filtered through my refrigerator filter). It does help.
Thanks again for all your articles and support. I was truly blessed the day I discovered Davita online.
God Bless you and your staff….
Nancy Oldfield
I must say I would love to have the the winning package and Model 8800 distilled system. Been using the 4000 system for the past 4 years plus the shower filters. These products are so helpful in keeping to my better health and longevity. This is a great win.
Thank You,
Peter
Does adding minerals to the water a good or bad thing? I am reffering to Water Max from Hallelujah Acres, which are “ionic” versus the organics in the public water supply.
Looking great!!!
I am so glad when I read in your Water series that you know Distilled water is the best.
In the early 1980’s when I med my husband, he was full of Arthritis. His fingers were stiff that he could not hold a pen to write and had severe back pain. We thanked God later that his doctor did not recommend back surgery.
After reading and studying all health related information we could get,
we changed to a vegetarian diet and just drank (and used for cooking) distilled water. – After approx. 2 years my husband was back to normal, – he could write and do his gymnastic exercise as in younger years.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your advise and helping people to lead a healthier life.
May God protect you and reward you !

It is difficult to wipe away the negative views on distilled water when so many people don’t understand how the human metabolism works. The minerals we need must be organic, i.e first processed by either plants or animals, before we can utilize them.
I am so grateful for a multitude of information/wisdom given to us through Save Our Bones.com. This encouragement for distilled water use is extremely helpful!! Carol from Wisconsin
I have found it tedious to maintain a sure form of good water. From my water cooler to faucet filter to purchased distilled water – and sometimes I still have to settle for plain tap water when I’m away from home and I’m never quite sure if the systems I am using are adequate.
i’m 64 years old with several health condition’s (diabetic type2, hypertensive, hyperlipidemia, OA in my knees, diverticolosis ) sad to say i don’t have any medial insurance as my husband loss his job last march 28 2012 and he is the only one working. living in this country without medical insurance is very hard specially for a senior citizen like me, having those medical conditions i stated above. since i don’t have medical insurance what i did is research online to look for anything that will help me in my situation , that is how i came across your website . i learned so much from your newsletter and when i saw one time that you are offering your save your bones program (new and expanded edition ) with a big discount , i grab that opportunity to have my own copy. oh … sorry i forgot to mention that i have also osteopenia , that’s the result in my last X-ray (rib cage ) from your book i learned so many things that helps me, as i’m the kind of person who does not like to take medicines (trying to avoid those bad side effects ) what i’m doing is just following what your book say’s. honestly you’re helping me and those others who can’t afford to get a medical insurance by teaching , enlighting and giving tips on how to save our bones ! when i saw that you’re having your sweepstakes i said to myself …. why not join, who knows who will be the lucky winner , God knows who really needs this water distiller and HIS will be done ! thank you vivian and God bless ….
Dear Vivian: Thank you very much for the great information you provide on a regular basis. I am a Type I Diabetic and try hard to eat and drink healthy. Your tips are invaluable, and the distiller would be awesome.
Marsha
I will be 80 next April, have osteoporosis of the spine, have COPD (emphysema), lost the right breast to cancer. I do try to eat healthy
and religiously follow the suggestions made by Vivian in her book Save Our
Bones. I do not buy bottled water but use the Brita.
I love following your web site and try to drink RO water most of the time and eat like your Save our Bones book. Thanks for all the research you do and giving us alternatives to drugs!
Water! Just turn on the tap, fill the glass, and enjoy! WRONG!!! I have learned SO much about H20 since reading Vivian’s postings about water. I would love to have the distiller system. I’m 79 yrs old, and am trying to save my bones for the years ahead. Thanks for the enlightenment, Vivian!
This distiller sounds great, my old bones coul’d use some help!
looks so promising………..hope I will be the winner!
Now a days the water we drinks is too much contaminted with chemicals, which the factory discharges and mingle with the rivers.
I have been drinking tap water figuring that it is tested by the municipality – not so bottled water. But reading what Vivian has to say on the matter of safe drinking water, I now realize that tap water is not 100% safe to drink. I respect and believe in what Vivian has to say and since I will continue to drink tap water would very much love to have the countertop distiller. i look forward each day to what Vivian has to say where bones are concerned and respect her tremendously.
That sounds perfect! I am concern with the quality of water that I drink.
This info about water is amazing. If it were not for Vivian’s research and willingness to try and inform us about bone health, etc., I would have remained ignorant. After ordering her book, “Save Our Bones” I have made valuable changes and am on my way to much better health. Even my attitude has changed. I feel very optimistic. Thank you, Marion Mack
Your information has been so very helpful to me. I live with my daughter, husband(who is a doctor) and sometimes it isn’t easy to convince them of the dangers of some medications but I do what I feel is right for me and I often take your advise as I have bone problems. With your advise and following your book I am doing quite well. I am 85 and exercise on the thread mill and airdyne bike for two hours almost every day and I feel great.
Thank you for your wonderful information.
Olivia
I appreicate all your e-mails and comments on the importance
of eating proper foods and exercise to keep our bones strong.
Also the importance of drinking distilled water. Thanks
so very much. Sandra Beaver
I am glad to hear your endorsement of the use of distilled water. What choices do we have? I feel that my water source is at least one thing that I can control and since our bodies are 70% water, it is a key issue.
Tap water is harmful, end of story. Most of our population will not be able to have a pure water source and will suffer because of it.
I love to read all the information you are giving us and I try to follow as much as I can. Thanks
Thanks for all of your research and willingness to share!
Deb C.
I live in newyork city and I need all the helpI can get to get fresh water amongst, the throngs of people andthe dirt
I was dx. osteoporosis 6 mos. ago. I started on fosomax and then noticed jaw pain. I went off the medication and now I no longer have the pain. Thank you Vivian!
So much great information!!! I hope I win!!!
Never heard of waterwise brand, but figure since you recommend it, it’s a good one. We constantly get letter from our City water Dept that they have been cited by the water quality board for having too much arsenic, or radium or whatever in the water they deliver to our home, so we started using bottled water. We fill empty bottles at a water dispenser @ 28 cents per gallon, it’s cumbersome, heavy bottles, but safer??
Would love to win this prize.
Wishing everyone good luck in the drawing
Sandy
I found your articles on water very informative and thanks for sharing.
Dorothy Silliman
Thanks so much for all you do to educate and inform those of us who are at risk for osteoporosis. Your work and publications are a blessing!
Winning a distiller would be such a blessing. Love your program and I can’t wait until Spring when I will have my next Dexa-scan. I have been following the program for a year and a half and fully expect my mild osteopina to be gone.
Thank you!
Your book is on my coffee table and not a day goes by, were I don’t look in it for valuable advise.
I have never in my live won anything and don’t expect it now. But I was going to buy a Waterdistiller and was happy to find your suggestion on what is the best one.
Thank you for all the Good you are doing,
Margaret
I now use the Pitcher of Life that is supposed to make water alkaline and add calcium and magneseum. Your article poo poo’s alkaline water because we want the acid on our stomachs to be high. Doesn’t this contradict the purpose of an 80/20 alkaline diet? I don’t understand why the water is discouraged while the food is encouraged, Vivian.
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis after suffering a fracture of a vertebrae. My primary doctor wanted me to take Fosamax, but my orthopedic dr. commented that these drugs were controversial, so I did some computer research and found you. I ordered your book and have been trying to follow your advice. It sounds so sensible. I am not perfect with following your advice, but I feel that I am more educated and the rest is up to me. I am on the right track. I am due for another bone scan this month and hope to find out that my bones are better or at least have not worsened from 2 years ago. I look forward to the information that you post on your web-site. Kathleen
As I am very active physically I was surprised to find the results of my bone density test were not what I thought they should be. I am now doing your “SaveOurBones” program and hope to see better results in the future.
I enjoy the e-mails.
Dear Vivian,
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your Save Our Bones program. I had been on it for about 6 months when I had my bone density exam. For the first time in ten years, instead of the continuing downward trend that has taken me into the severe osteoporosis category, my graph stayed even! That may not be earthshaking but I was absolutely thrilled. I am faithfully adhering to the supplements and exercises in you program and expect even more progress! Your weekly emails are timely and helpful and filled with the spirit of sharing. Thanks for making a difference in my life!
Leanne Hoole
So grateful to have found your website! I have osteoporosis and fibromyalgia
and have been doing well for ten years on Neurontin and Celexa, praise God, but I am always looking for new information to keep pain and bone loss in check. I am 69 and have had the Fibro. for at least 35 years, only diagnosed about 15 years ago. I really need to concentrate on the osteo now, as it can be so debilitating. Any help with excellent water would be a God-send!
Dear Vivian: YOU REALLY HAVE HELPED ME WITH ALL YOUR AMAZING INFORMATION WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE MAINSTREAM PRESS. I HOPE I WIN!
Hi Viv. It would be nice to win, very expensive to buy, thanks for all the updates. Elizabeth Garrett
I love the frequent tips and information that you post. I have learned a lot. Thank you!
I’m so pleased to know products exists that can help our bones stay strong……
