I'm thrilled to announce that the ‘Win a Free Distiller Sweepstakes' starts today. In Part 1 and Part 2 of Water Week I've explained why drinking distilled water is the best choice both for your bones and for your overall health.
What I didn't tell you, is that at home, all the water I drink and cook with comes from my Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller. I've done the research, and it's by far the best distiller on the market.
I only have to fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and a few hours later, I have one gallon of the best tasting, purest, and fluoride-free water.
And today you have an opportunity to win the Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller, plus more great prizes… all valued at $510!
Here's How It Works
To enter, simply leave a comment below, along with your name and email. Feel free to write anything your heart desires :). Please leave your comment before Wednesday, September 12th, at 10:00pm ET.
My team and I will then randomly select one grand prize winner, and five runners-up. Stay tuned, because I will announce the winners on Thursday, September 13th. Best of luck!
- Grand Prize: One lucky winner will get the entire ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package', which normally sells for $510.
- Runners-Up: Five lucky winners will receive the Waterwise BPA-Free Sports Bottle.

Here's What You Can Win: The ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package'
Waterwise® 8800 Countertop Distiller
You’ll love using the 8800. All you do is fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and soon you’ll be enjoying the purest water possible. With the easy-to-use electronic monitor, you can program it before bed for that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning. After running a one-gallon cycle, keep the BPA-free carafe in the refrigerator for a chilled glass of pure refreshment—whenever you want. Fill trays for perfectly clear and pure icecubes. Even take the 8800 along on your next trip. The portable, programmable 8800 is ready when you are!
The Waterwise 8800 combines steam distillation with carbon post-filtration, resulting in optimum water purity. The electronic monitor with its multifunction LCD readout even alerts you when it’s time to change the filter!
Sells for: $399
Deluxe Showerwise® Shower Filtration System
You’ll enjoy softer skin, healthier scalp and shinier hair after a Showerwise shower. Why? Because chlorine, commonly used to disinfect tap water, can make your skin dry, sensitive, flaky and itchy. It irritates your eyes and makes your hair dry and unmanageable. Worse yet, chlorine and chlorine by-products aggravate symptoms for many asthma, allergy, sinus and emphysema sufferers.
You may be shocked to know that your body can absorb more chlorine in a 1-minute shower than from drinking 8 glasses of the same water. But you can relax… chlorine is reduced by 95% with Showerwise. Also reduced is iron, lead, mercury and hydrogen sulfide. Bacterial, fungal and mildew growth are effectively inhibited.
Showerwise’s patented KDF-55 and Chlorgon filter material performs best in warm or hot water, unlike ordinary carbon filters that are effective in cold only. And Showerwise contains 50% more material for a longer, more effective lifetime than most filters, typically lasting 12-18 months!
Sells for: $69
6-Pack Carbon Filter Bags – 1 Year Supply
Carbon filtration enhances taste and purity by adsorption, aeration and degasification. Replace every 2-months or after 60-80 gallons distilled, whichever comes first. One bag drops into the filter compartment of the carafe lid.
Sells for: $36
Waterwise® BPA-Free Sports Bottle
Waterwise BPA-Free bottles are lightweight, reuseable and ensure that every drop of distilled water stays pure. They’re extremely durable and simple to clean (just use peroxide and water or baking soda and water, then rinse).
Sells for: $6

Goody, goody gumdrop!!!
Dear Vivian,
I love the “Save Our Bones” Program and I follow it as closely as I can to not only reverse Osteoporosis but to try to reverse “Chronic Lyphocytic Leukemia”
I have wanted for a long time to buy a water distiller but on my tiny Social Security check, I have not been able to afford it.
I am praying that I can win this Waterwise, I have heard that it is the best brand.
Thank you for everything you do to Improve our health,
Jocelyn
Thank you for your great knowledge and information how to save our bone and have a quality of life!
These filter system looks fantastic and I hope I win it!
God bless You!
Pure water is so very good for all. Makes everything taste better too.
I would absolutely LOVE to win the Waterwise 8800. It would certainly be a great help to me in fighting my osteoporsis.
Reading reviews on the Waterwise 8800 and users have complained about plastic parts not being durable and longevity problems with this unit.
Why are you recommending this particular unit over something like the Megahome Stainless and Glass Countertop unit?
I am so happy to have had the opportunity to have you giving me the advice on our bones, etc. I am a stage four cancer survivor and still fighting for my life. I refuse to take any pills to enhance my bones since I have read so much negative results of any pills you take for the bones. First the doctors will brag about how good it is and then years later you read that users of the bone pills are causing the bones to break. This actually scared me. There are other ways to protect your bones as you have reported and I have to say you have been very informative. Thank you again for your time and knowledge. HAFA ADAI FROM A GUAM CANCER SURVIVOR
I truly appreciaate all your advice! I have been slowly changing how I eat (& feed my family) over the last couple of years and I feel better now at 54 than I did throughout most of my 40s! Thank you!
Thank you for keeping us all informed – who knew that water was different! Some good some bad, knowing what is good makes the difference in your health.
Thank you, Vivian, for continually sharing your wealth of knowledge. Cheers to better bones!
pure water is the source of life!
I read all your emails and alerts, and believe me I receive alot of health info emails, they are too much and all over the place. I find your info concise and digestible and I have alot of faith in your studies. Thank You. Kathlleen

Knowing that our bodies need 32+ ounces of water daily , it’s important for it to be PURE!!
I need one – my water tastes HORRIBLE!
Thank you for all you do Vivian, love your great advice and I cherish and use the Save Our Bones book!
Cheers
Diana
I cannot believe how many times in life I have had to think for myself and not let others (even be it doctors) dictate what I should be thinking. And I am especially grateful that we have the internet in our fervent search for the truth: the internet can make our search so much easier.
When I was diagnosed with osteopenia this last year, this was just another one of those times I have had to research the situation for myself.
Thank you for your kind support, Vivian!
Best wishes to you and yours,
Betty Bratrud
I would love to win the countertop distiller to start saving my bones now!!
My mother had chemical reations to tap water and had to drink distilled water to keep her feet and legs from swelling. She bought it in jugs and would have really benefited from this machine in her kitchen instead of having to carry it in the house each week. She would have had the price of the machine paid several times over for all the water she bought in jugs. It looks like a good system.
Dear Vivian,
I much appreciate your book, your knowledge and your warm and optimistic common sense manner of sharing the latter with all of us.
Please continue this work!
Christian Reuter
I love the idea of getting the best water possible from a countertop distiller rather than having a permanent filter installed on our water system. Thanks
thank you for all your help with calcium I have ordered the alge calcium and threw out the other that the dr gave me to take, He also had me on strotiun and I have stopped that too. I have been watching the foods to make sure I am eating the proper ph with everything. I have been diagnosed with Osteo penia, and it wasn’t getting better. I teach Pilates, boxing, and am a personal treainer for seniors. I do drink distilled water and amazing did not know that there are distillers . Thanks for all the great information I enjoy your book that I got last week
These look like great products. I hope I win one.
I have learned so much from vivian and the save our bones community. Through this site I have not only gainrd the knowledge I needed to take control of my bone health but also the confidence to do so. Thank you!
your articles are absolutely fantastic and great education!!!!!
I have learned a great deal from the information you have provided and thank you.
I often thought if they say to use distilled water in my steam iron so as not to clog the vents perhaps I should be drinking it as well. Just was not sure that was the thing to do, but after receiving and reading all the information you have sent, I am giving up all the bottled water I use to purchase. I will now buy extra distilled water for myself and husband. I should have known that was the thing to do because when we travel and our dog goes with us he will not drink the local water and so we need to buy distilled water for him at the local stores.
Thank you Vivian for enlightening me on the water situation.
Thank you for educating me on the importance of distilled water. Your articles have been a revelation to me. You are appreciated for all the good information you provide. Again, Thank You!!
Thank you for the water week series. It has been a benefit to me, and I enjoyed the read.
Vivian, I’ve switched from filtered water to distilled water since I got your book early this year. I am convinced that the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience of lugging those gallon bottles.
Thanks so much.
We have used distilled water in my family for over 20 years, and have hauled gallon water bottles from the store all that time. It would be wonderful to have a purifier sitting on the counter so that would not be necessary any longer.
AS I AM SUFFERING FROM OSTEO ARTHROSIS I WANT TO TRY YOUR DEVICE AT MY RESIDENCE IN INDIA.
I am truly happy to have my water mystery solved. I knew I needed to drink water daily but I knew the tap water I was drinking tasted “funny” and then people started talking about how bottled water was just a waste of money and I couldn’t decide between spring water, mountain water, ion water… I do have been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and at my recent physical I have shrunk another inch. Of course, my doctor started talking to me again about Fosomax and Relclast and hormone replacement. I’m sticking to my Vitamin D3, calcium, magnesium, multivitaming, Omega 3-6-9 complex, fruits, veggies, exercise and now I can add the correct water.
I would like to know more about can anyone fill me in ?
Thank you Vivian for always watching out for us! I am always encouraged by your up to date information, most recently about distilled water and its benefits. Thank you so much!!!
I’ve been on “Saving our Bones” program for 2 years and I have learned so many positive things from your emails. I’m really interested in drinking healthier water, so please enter me in the contest.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Nancy Allison
Information is education very beneficial as the water I drink. Distilled is my preference, but I have to boil it when Walmart runs out of it.
I’ve been interested in getting the right water filter but didn’t even know where to start looking because I didn’t know what to look for. Was so glad to read your water reports – very informative and comprehensive!
I buy gallons of distilled water every week and recently realized that I should buy a water distiller. So I was really amazed when I got this email saying that I could win one. How about that!!
I actually prefer the taste of distilled water to regular bottled water. I would love to make my own – it would be such a cost savings over buying bottled water every month.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. What more can I say!!!!!!
Oh my. Talk about needing a distiller. We found this beautiful place to live in the country and moved in. Home Sweet Home. Then we went to drink the water.
Ike, what’s that Smell???? Yep, Sulfur, rotten eggs… Well water I grew up only kids too. But never smelled this before. Know one will drink it.. So once a week my husband stops by his moms and fills up 40 gallon jugs of her water and brings it home. Been doing this for nearly 2 years now. Wouldn’t you say we need a distiller bad…? Thank you for all you share with us. The information is priceless and so are you… Love & Blessings to All; Bethwyn
Water is the best medicine for my body so i would like to have one.Thank you.
Dear Vivian, Thanks for clearing away the smog. There’s so much “information” coming our way all the time. I appreciate your commonsense approach to good health for women. I love when you demonstrate your exercises … in a homey manner. And somehow, I believe you really care… a rather uncommon attribute these days. Keep up the good and caring work.
Thank you for your care in teaching us how to save our bones naturally. I have neglected the water issue for a while now and your reminders have helped me to refocus on this important aspect. I will be buying distilled water until I can afford a distiller or until I win (maybe this one) .
Thank you for your lively and insightful emails!
You speak the truth, and it is valuable and valued information.
We used a water Distiller while living in China fro 1988-1990. It was a very basic (primitive)model, but it provided the only safe water for my family of 5. I have often wished we could have one of the newer, much more efficient machines, but have not had the funds. You are wonderful to offer this chance to win one. I would LOVE to win it, but know whoever gets it will be greatly blessed.
Thank you for ALL you do to help educate and encourage us in our quest for improved health.
Thank you so much, Vivian, for sharing your extensive knowledge with all of us. I appreciate all the research you do and then share freely so we don’t have to. I heard conflicting information about distilled water, so this was very helpful.
Have you read the books by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj? I was fascinated by his research that started in a Iranian prison during the 1980s. The title of his book is “Dehydration in the Fourth Dimension” and “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”. He links dehydration to nearly every condition experienced with aging including diabetes and hypertension. I however don’t recall links with bone density although he does explain the relationship to joint damage. Anyways thought it would make good reading for this group!

I have been trying to convince my wife for over 30 years that distilled water is the way to go, but she always argues about cleaning up the distiller all the time. Right, she has no faith, in how much better the water would be if it was distilled. She would be, I’m sure healthier now if she drank distilled water instead of having all of her health problems.

Finally, an answer to my solve my drinking water dilemma. Thank you.
