I'm thrilled to announce that the ‘Win a Free Distiller Sweepstakes' starts today. In Part 1 and Part 2 of Water Week I've explained why drinking distilled water is the best choice both for your bones and for your overall health.
What I didn't tell you, is that at home, all the water I drink and cook with comes from my Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller. I've done the research, and it's by far the best distiller on the market.
I only have to fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and a few hours later, I have one gallon of the best tasting, purest, and fluoride-free water.
And today you have an opportunity to win the Waterwise 8800 Countertop Distiller, plus more great prizes… all valued at $510!
Here's How It Works
To enter, simply leave a comment below, along with your name and email. Feel free to write anything your heart desires :). Please leave your comment before Wednesday, September 12th, at 10:00pm ET.
My team and I will then randomly select one grand prize winner, and five runners-up. Stay tuned, because I will announce the winners on Thursday, September 13th. Best of luck!
- Grand Prize: One lucky winner will get the entire ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package', which normally sells for $510.

Here's What You Can Win: The ‘Save Our Bones Exclusive Waterwise Package'
Waterwise® 8800 Countertop Distiller
You’ll love using the 8800. All you do is fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button, and soon you’ll be enjoying the purest water possible. With the easy-to-use electronic monitor, you can program it before bed for that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning. After running a one-gallon cycle, keep the BPA-free carafe in the refrigerator for a chilled glass of pure refreshment—whenever you want. Fill trays for perfectly clear and pure icecubes. Even take the 8800 along on your next trip. The portable, programmable 8800 is ready when you are!
The Waterwise 8800 combines steam distillation with carbon post-filtration, resulting in optimum water purity. The electronic monitor with its multifunction LCD readout even alerts you when it’s time to change the filter!
Sells for: $399
Deluxe Showerwise® Shower Filtration System
You’ll enjoy softer skin, healthier scalp and shinier hair after a Showerwise shower. Why? Because chlorine, commonly used to disinfect tap water, can make your skin dry, sensitive, flaky and itchy. It irritates your eyes and makes your hair dry and unmanageable. Worse yet, chlorine and chlorine by-products aggravate symptoms for many asthma, allergy, sinus and emphysema sufferers.
You may be shocked to know that your body can absorb more chlorine in a 1-minute shower than from drinking 8 glasses of the same water. But you can relax… chlorine is reduced by 95% with Showerwise. Also reduced is iron, lead, mercury and hydrogen sulfide. Bacterial, fungal and mildew growth are effectively inhibited.
Showerwise’s patented KDF-55 and Chlorgon filter material performs best in warm or hot water, unlike ordinary carbon filters that are effective in cold only. And Showerwise contains 50% more material for a longer, more effective lifetime than most filters, typically lasting 12-18 months!
Sells for: $69
6-Pack Carbon Filter Bags – 1 Year Supply
Carbon filtration enhances taste and purity by adsorption, aeration and degasification. Replace every 2-months or after 60-80 gallons distilled, whichever comes first. One bag drops into the filter compartment of the carafe lid.
Sells for: $36
Waterwise® BPA-Free Sports Bottle
Waterwise BPA-Free bottles are lightweight, reuseable and ensure that every drop of distilled water stays pure. They’re extremely durable and simple to clean (just use peroxide and water or baking soda and water, then rinse).
Sells for: $6

Save Our Bones, Save Our Planet
I’ve really been enthusiastic about learning the different types of water filtration available. I’m currently using a gravity driven one called “KeoSan”. Three or four years ago I bought and installed a reverse osmosis system but when the filters needed replacement, I went back to using the Keosan. I would like to win the distiller, of course, so that I would be consuming the purest water.
I want to dedicate this comment to my aunt. If it wasn’t for her I would not have found your site. Last year my 88 yr old aunt fell and broke her hip. I was asked to help out last July 2011. I ended up staying for a year. In the process her housemate fell and ended up with severe brain damage. Her extended family didn’t want her and I tried to take care of both. However, she became very violent, due to the damage, and I had to place her in a home. Without her income my aunt could no longer live in her house. It was decided to have her come live with my mother and I. My aunt has dementia and Parkenson’s and is on lots of meds. I started doing research to see how I could help her and discovered your site as well as some other health conscious site. In the short time I’ve been on the Save Our Bones site, I have learned so much that pertains to my aunt. I only make $700 a month taking care of my aunt so buying a distiller is on the agenda but not at the top. We do use a Pur filter and that helps a little. Your articles are very interesting and eye opening and I pass them on to my relatives. Especially the one about aluminum foil. So thank you very much for having this site and your dedication to inform the people.
I will do whatever it takes to keep from taking the drugs the doctor’s recommend. I took them for several years and regret it! Thanks for all the info.
I am so grateful that Vivian Goldschmidt has not only dedicated her life to understanding and improving bone health in natural ways, but that she decided to share her wisdom with the rest of us.
For years I have been agonizing over what water filtration system worked best and was easy to use and install. I can’t believe that I had never heard about a tabletop distiller…or that distilling water was the best way to go.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I win the Waterwise 8800 Distiller as it seems awesome!
Thanks again for you selfless dedication to good bone health.
Sincerely,
Rosemary
Love your emails-they are so informative. I bought your book after I broke my foot this spring and use it almost every day. I have been looking for a water distiller for a while-but they are pretty expensive. I hope I will be lucky enough to be one of the winners. Thanks so much for all of the info Cheryl Lokken
My husband and I have always selected lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. We love fresh produce which is abundantly available here in southern CA. And we eat little red meat and high fat dairy. I am 78 years old and my Dexa scan was negative 1 osteopenia. A spine specialist remarked that I was a candidate for Fosamax or Boniva. Thanks to you I knew enough to walk out with no plans to return.
Thanks for all you do,
Joan Wayman
I am one of the unfortunate males who has osteoporosis,
and I have learned so much from your book and your online
comments.
Thank you so much!!!
Dear Vivian,
I have gained such an education from reading the “Save Our Bones” newsletter. I look forward to each new installment and share what I have learned with my co-workers, friends and relatives. I tell everyone how important it is for us all to try and keep our bodies in an alkaline state and what that means for us. I have shared why regular homogenized milk from the grocery is way too acidic and may not be the best choice for maintaining optimal health; why home plants are good for your bones, etc., etc….
I got interested in your newsletter a few months ago when I started having pain going up and down stairs. I went to see an Orthopedic Surgeon and he suggested cortisone injections. I didn’t want to mask the pain, I wanted to elimitate it. Since following your guidelines and suggestions, I am beginning to see real improvement.
Thank you for all that you do…….
Blessing,
Celeste
I wish more doctors would get with “your program”, as it is such a wonderful and natural way to care for our bones. Seems the entire medical profession is still living in the shadows when it comes to bone health. Thanks for all you continued advice and support.
your findings and advice are much appreciated. I look forward to your wonderfully informative E-Mails.
Thank you.
Water is life! Vivian has helped my life immensely. Buckets ofpure life to you for yourgift to the world!
Thank so much, Vivian, for your report on water. This is what I’v been waiting for. I have been drinking distilled water for about a year and I’m glad to know that I’v been doing the right thing.
Such good information you give us all and because of you I am thinking about the water I drink. I have known to drink water and didn’t realize what all I was getting. Distilled water was a recomendation for cleaning my couch when I bought it in 2000. I had no idea I should be drinking it! Thank you so much for your research.
Thank you, Vivian, for all your help in Saving Our Bones!! I appreciate the quick and informative answers to my questions! looking forward to that cookbook! And yes, it would be wonderful if I won the distiller! Keep up the good work!! Cindy
Hi Vivian, I want to thank you very much for giving me new hope regarding osteoporosis, which I was diagnosed with 3 years ago and put on actonel (which I had to stop taking after 2 years) It made my situation worse,I am now 57, and using your wisdom to re-gain my bone mass. I’m looking forward to my next bone scan. I hope my dr. falls on his behind when the results come back better, and not by any of his “poison pills”! (They made me really really sick and made the pain worse, and the bone degeneration was worse after the scans).
I send you blessings of love and light during my meditation everyday
Thank you again Laura-Lee
I am lucky to have found you. You have cleared up many questions for me. Thank you.
I have known for a long time how important water is and how polluted it was becoming. I use a pitcher filter now but still have reservations about them. In an emergency I have a dug well from back in the 20’s but would not drink it with out boiling and filtering. I have enjoyed SOB,s informative articles and the suggestions. It is too bad the library does not have a condensed book of these to inform everyone. With fracking every where in the USA ground water will soon be completely unusable. The politicians are not going to do any thing to save us, we must do it our selves. Educating the public is the only way. God help us.
this would save the earth from more plastic contamination of discarded water bottles.
The Waterwise Distiller beats lugging gallons of distilled water from the supermarket.
All of my life I have drunk water…I love water; and, don’t drink much of anything else. It is always a treat, and a preference, to find good tasting water. It would be even better to have water that is healthful to my bones and whole being…I love drinking good water!
What about Reverse Osmosis Filter system. I want to know the advantage of using it, or the downside of it.
Thank you very much.
This is a great idea! Thank you.
Your ‘Natural Bone Building Handbook’ is in my E Books folder on my desktop for easy access. I have owned water
distillers but they do wear out. I have good well water from a Coop system, no chorine or fluoride. Lucky for me as chlorine really creates a lot of health problems for me. Our water is high in carbonates and I have tried the filter pitcher but wasn’t impressed. I will keep the recommended distiller in mind. Very important information on your website. It is a good one and easy to use, thank you. Jeanne George
Vivian, thank you for all good and helpful information.
Thank you for all your advice and knowledge you impart on those of us who have been lucky enough to have found you! Especially your research on bone loss prevention, and now on water! The elixir of life or disease. I have been so confused about water, one Dr says to drink only distilled another source says it creates an acidic enviornment, who do we believe?? Now that you have uncovered the truth I can rest assured you have answered my questions. Being a cancer survivor of ovarian cancer of 7 yrs. and the devestating monetary loss I can afford very few aids to remain healthy this opportunity would be a God sent. Thank you for all you do we women salute and applaude you, as do our families who love us. God bless you, Carol L Brandt
With all the confusion around water and what is safe, I am so glad that someone I respect has done the research for me. I live in a senior community with it’s own well water, but the testing seems over simplified, and although it tastes good, is it? Also we are planning a trip in our motor home and will access all kinds of unknown waters so it will be so comforting to know what we get is safe. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Thanks for all the information you e-mail me. I would like to win a distiller and put your advice to work!
Thank You so much for informing us of the best distilling system you feel available. For years I have read, studied, and searched to find the best and safest water for our consumption but never felt like I had found the right thing. I have used Brita filters for years but lately felt that wasn’t quite good enough. I have also purchased gallons of distilled water but living so far into the country it is difficult to get without driving many miles. So, I was very excited to learn of your recommendation. Thanks again!
Enjoy reading your information you give us. Thank you-Mary
Put in my comment this morning but it seems to be gone now wonder why not going to put in another one thanks Vivan for this site.
I am enjoying all the info received through this program. Thank you so much Vivian. It seems half my life now is going to the store to get water. A distiller is just what the Dr. ordered!
I drink distilled water, and I am sold on it.
I want to be in control of the water my family drinks daily. I am spending so much money buying distilled water for 6 of us to drink every day. I also cannot afford to buy a water distiller. I am retired and therefore living on a fixed budget. My family will not drink tap water. I would really love to be able to afford to also give my 2 dogs distilled water but it’s not in my budget. Winning your distiller would make me able to give my family and my dogs the healthiest water posssible. It will also have a positive effect on my monthly budget !!!
Keep those helpful emails coming.
To your health,
Pat Phillips
Your common-sense articles have helped me select a calcium supplement which should be more effective than those I’ve taken in the past, namely, a natural plant-based supplement rather a rock or coral-based one. I’m sure you’re also on target with your advice about distilled water, rather than simply filtered water. Thanks for all of your concerns and efforts toward improving everyone’s skeletal health!
I know we should own this product for our health. At 64 I really know.
Hope I can be a winner!!
Leave the inorganic minerals in the ground, not in our water.
Hello Vivian,
I truly appreciate your work and research. I would love to be a winner, I suffer from osteopenia and follow your program the best i can as i have recently been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue Dyndrome.
Sheila
I enjoyed reading your past series on healthy water info – I learned so much.
I know I would benefit with these healthy water products – so I plan to be the lucky winner!! (positve thinking!)
Thank you for your offer and all your fine articles!
Vivian,
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to win a distiller. I’ve recently retired and been thinking that a distiller would be a good way for me to drink the best water you describe as I can’t afford to buy it in bottles. Thanks so much too for your save our bones program. It has helped me so much to make the right decisions for my body. When my doctor prescribed drugs for osteoporosis, I knew that wasn’t the right solution for me. Finding you and reaping the benefits of your knowledge has been a blessing for me.
🙂 Rachel
I am so happy that you decided to do these articles on water. My city is thinking about adding flouride to our water system and I am thinking about what water system to purchase to get rid of the flouride, if this happens. Thank you for doing the research on what is the best water and what system is best. Thank you for the chance to win one. I follow your Save Our Bones program, and I thank you for that, too.
Have found much useful information in your Save our Bones book. And I have since been drinking distilled water, that I have to buy. Would very much like to have the distiller. Thank you for the opportunity.
Water that is free from impurities and taste good is best for you without a doubt. Our bones will also benefit from pure water.
Thanks for the valuable information which you give, it is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
I would like to enter your contest to win the sink top distiller. I know there are great benefits to drinking pure water.
I do however have a concern about distilled water. Is it true that this process can contribute to, or cause raised acidity levels in the body? I thank you and would appreciate a response to my concern.
Hi..
Since my bone density showed a decrease last time, I have been watching and reading your advice. Thanks for the warnings against mainstream “bone health prescriptions” and alternative suggestions. I look forward to a better report next year.
Hi Vivian, I’m a healthy senior who takes no prescriptions….judt my supplements and allegra for my allergies. Was diagnosed with osteoporosis in spine and pena in hip but, thanks to you declined prescriptions for fosimaax and that other awful stuff about 4 years ago. Have been drinking distilled water and filtered shower water and use almond milk and cut way back on coffee and tea. Thanks for all your good advice. Carl
Thank you for your continued informative letters and the save your bones program. I was put on Boniva and had many adverse side affects, and am very glad I found your information.
Keep up the good work.
and reminders are good . sometimes I need these to keep me on track
Since I don’t have the funds to purchase one of these wonderful machines, it would be a real blessing to win one!
Thank you so much for your research and willingness to share information with those of us striving to rebuild our bones. Appreciate you.
