    Hi! Vivian,

THIS WAS A GREAT AND VERY INFORMATIVE ARTICLE! BUT HOW DO YOU GET A STUBBORN HUSBAND TO TAKE THIS ADVICE, AND AT LEAST TRY TO LEARN
SOMETHING FROM IT, AND THEN FOLLOW THROUGH WITH WHAT HE’S LEARNED ABOUT
HOW TO HELP PREVENT THE FLU VIRUS NATURALLY? IF YOU WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME, I’LL BE MOST APPRECIATIVE!

    LOVE, LESLIE (MS. L.)

  2. Debbie

How do I save my bones on an aromatese inhibitor for breast cancer for 5 years that is very hard on the bones?

  3. Sylvia Powell

Need information on the “healing effects” of Kangen Water. I have a friend that swears by it, she said the water is ionied and alkalized. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do.

  4. dot davis

All of my lab tests show high inflammation. I can’t figure out what I need to do to change the number to low. I eat all of the foods that are suppose to get rid of inflammation. I am also following Save our Bones Program.

On my last lab report (October 9) my sed rate was good: 20 (normally runs 34 to 60); but my CRP was 17.

    I would appreciate suggestions.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

      Hi Dot,
If you are following the program, it is more than likely that your bones are in excellent shape despite the numbers.

Remember, mainstream medicine needs numbers to diagnose and to prescribe. Natural advocates like you and I don’t: we just need common sense and knowledge applied within realistic parameters.

So relax, enjoy life, and keep up with the program and everything else you are doing.

hope someone else is feeding it, and shame now two in a small cage.

  6. Stephanie Tent

    Vivian,
I have been following the save our bones diet and exercise. My recent
bone scan shows that the only decrease is in my neck. What exercises
do you recommend for that area? Thank you. Stephanie

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

      Stephanie,
Here is a link to an article on Yoga for a Pain-Free Life:
      https://saveourbones.com/yoga-for-a-pain-free-life/
In this article, I mention a particular yoga pose that relieves pain and pressure in the neck. It’s not specifically designed to increase density, but it certainly can help open things up for optimal health and healing.

  7. Nancy

We have well water which doesn’t have fluoride. Is it ok to drink.

  8. Goldie

Hi Viv, Oh thank you for the video of baboon and kitten it really made my day,we humans can learn a lesson from it, show more kindness to animals.
please can you suggest a simply home test to see if I acidic.
    Thanks a million.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

The acidity of foods is determined by measuring the ash residue after the food is burned. This shows how the food acts in the body after digestion. So there really isn’t a simple home test for that procedure!

  9. Lisetta

Beauty & love defined; hopefully, all human forms of life will rise to that level of care! Thanks so very much for sharing the story.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

I couldn’t have said it better!

  10. Betty

What a kind and sweet Baboon for taking care of the kitten. I wish more people were like him. I too am sad that they have to be locked in a cage.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Yes, it’s sad. Now at least he has a companion 🙂

  11. Danna Mitchell Raupp

    Dear Vivian,

I am greatly distressed. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2009 and have been on your eating plan since then. For two years I have been able to maintain a PH balance between 6.5-7.0 except for times of emotional crisis in my life. For the past two months I have dropped to 5.5, with just a few days at 6.5-7.0. I have been taking Ultimate PH Balance daily, to no avail.

I am living in the Republic of Georgia, where the food generally is not conducive to maintaining a strong alkaline diet. I also came to Georgia in 2011 to marry my American college sweetheart, who first proposed to me in 1954! We are happy, but I am worried that the gains I have made (a recent bone scan in the U.S. revealed good improvement, so I know the program works). I also fell and broke my hip in 5/12, but had a wonderful surgeon at our local Military Hospital and have recovered very well.

Any observations or words of encouragement? Thanks for your caring.

    Danna Mitchell Raup[

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Danna, thanks for sharing your story with us. I’m thrilled that your last DEXA scan showed improvement. I recommend that you stop worrying, since that adds to your stress… you already know that the Program is working for you! Stress has an acidifying effect on the pH, so stay positive and know that even if you don’t do everything on the Program, you’ll be helping your bones 🙂

  12. Janet

I just went to the Dr. for my annual “physical”(joke). He asked me if I were taking my Fozomax. I told him no and he said nothing. All the other times I was there he was ranting and raving…makes you wonder about the so called “kick backs”. Told him I was eating better and was following as closely as possible the “Osteoporosis Reversal Program”. Have not had my bone scan done for this year yet.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

You make an interesting point… and keep up with the Program 🙂

      • JENN CARDARELLI

I am 60 yrs old. when i was about 46, i fell straight back off a bed. my t-score was -4.3. i have been on every meds,,even the shots in the stomach and the Reclast drip. I had to have my teeth pulled because my jaw bone was so soft ny teeth rotten out bottom first. no dentist would operate because of all the drugs i took. i had to go 6 mths. off. i was due in mid-Oct. for Reclast-my teeth are all out–they are not sure of the effects –if i take med. WHAT SHOULD I DO — MY BACK IS KILLING ME-SHOULD I TAKE SOMETHING ???? PLEASE HELP ME

        • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

          Hi Jenn,
I am sorry to hear about your accident and subsequent pain and medication challenges. If you’re unsure about continuing with the drugs or taking new ones, I suggest you type the drug name into the Search feature on the Save Our Bones website, and see what I’ve written on that particular drug. That should provide the information you need to make an informed decision.

I wish you success on your health journey!

  13. Nancy

I have been wondering if Green tea, coffee bean and white bean supplements would be acidic? Also does urine PH have anything in common with blood PH. A few days after starting your program my urine changed from acidic to alkaline. Thanks for your help.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Nancy, all three are acidifying, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take them. And urine and saliva pH are a reflection of blood pH. Now that you’re on the Program, you have an alkaline pH. So continue “saving your bones”!

      • Luc

The blood PH is always very constant, alkalinizing or acidifying food only shows how the food makes the body supply acid or alcaline adjustment to keep the PH of the blood constant. On an acidifying diet, the body takes calcium from bones to neutralize the acidity from the food, or the acidity produced by the metabolisation of ingested food.

  14. Ana

Vivian i enjoy your newsletter but want to say I think the Baboon & kitten video is so sad in a way. It shows how animals have a much bigger heart than the humans who have enclosed them in such bare cages with no grass or nature. the Baboon is capable of showing more care for an animal not of its own kind than the humans who caged up the baboon for their own pleasure!

    • valerie stevens

agree, I was surprised at the caging in this day and age, lovely lonely baboon looking for friendship and careseeking. Terrible caging, wheres the grass and tress to climb.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

I agree with you, and I am against caging animals in generals and in zoos. So I posted this video to show how animals care for others and obviously have feelings. And that’s one more reason to treat animals humanely and not to keep them inside enclosures.

    • joan

Ana, I totally agree with you. It breaks my heart how these lovely creatures are changed with no real nature. It’s a crime! My heart goes out to both of these wonderful animals.
Even as a child I disliked zoos….supposedly they have improved over the years, but not to my liking.
      joan

    • Sasha

Ana, how I agree with you. Caging wild animals in this way is just so inhumane. Wild animals need to be free to live and act in the wild as nature intended. What a lovely soul this poor trapped baboon has in its obvious care for the kitten.

  15. Fida Ahmad

Thanks Vivian, I was 2nd day into starting a cold and your help arrived just in time. You suggested Elderberry Sambucus Nigra herbal supplement. Sure enough I started taking it right away and found my symptoms fading away. It’s a good product. Thank you again.

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

      Yes, it works 🙂

    • sonja

Cat’s claw works for me all the time. As soon as I feel a cold comming on I take one 50mg zinc and 3 cat’s claw and within an hour or so feel fine.

      • Carolyn Restagno

With any new supplement, I would suggest going slowly. I tried taking Cat’s Claw one time, and as soon as I took it, my body used every orifice in my body to try to get rid of it–I was sneezing, my eyes were watering and I had to urinate all at the same time. I would not recommend taking 3 capsules of anything until you are sure you are not allergic to it!

  16. jitendrakr

pls suggest me that how to remove joint pain

    jitednra

    • Vivian Goldschmidt, MA

Many cases of arthritis and joint pain are caused by too much accumulation of acid residue in the joints. Many in the Save Our Bones community experience relief from arthritis and joint pain when on the Program. This is likely due to a reduction in acid residue and proper acid/alkaline balance in the body, which is exactly what the Program is designed to do.
